Ards, M Leuven and Illuminare present a new lecture series at M Leuven that will program scholars in the field of medieval sculpture. First up is professor Justin EA Kroesen from the University of Bergen (NO) on December 3rd who will talk about the spread of netherlandish altarpieces throughout Europe in the middle ages and renaissance period.

The Virgo Lactans from the early 13th century, made of Marmo rosso di Verona , was probably sculpted by the Veronese sculptor Brioloto de Balneo, known to experts for the large rosette window in the San Zeno Basilica in Verona.

Corinne Van Hauwermeiren holds a PhD in Art History at UNamur and has now published her book on Virgin and child sculptures from the Pyrénées-Orientales.
